End of 2023 Reflection

End of 2023 Reflection

2023 has been incredible at LLOC. Here are some highlights.

Most important was welcoming patients to the Clinic, many travelling long distances for treatment. My team and I were proud to watch all your beautiful smiles develop, and honoured to be part of your orthodontic journey.

1st full year in Harley Street

Our vision in 2022 was to reflect the world-class care we provide to patients by creating a beautiful environment you could feel part of. After the 1st year in Harley Street, we are delighted to report you approve! My team and I have enjoyed working in this prestigious setting, too and look forward to having you back in 2024.

Best Orthodontic Practice, London

Not only our patients gave us a seal of approval; our Orthodontic colleagues did too! We received Clinical Dentistry Awards’ Best Orthodontic Practice in London in September. We are so proud of this achievement and thrilled with your congratulatory messages.

World Society of Lingual Orthodontics Congress

In March, I spoke at the WSLO Congress held in Kobe, Japan. Known for its respectful ethos and technological achievements, the Kobe International Conference Centre was a fitting venue to meet some of the most creative, innovative and forward-thinking orthodontists in the world. I was delighted to spend time with esteemed colleagues, many I had not seen since before the Pandemic and with others I had never met. We share such a passion for lingual orthodontics and look forward to helping shape its future for the benefit of our patients.

Climbing Mount Snowdon

Following the passing of my friend, Richard Horton, friends and I climbed Snowdon in June to raise funds for prostate cancer research. It was great exercise, good fun and so rewarding. I was grateful and awed by the generosity shown to this cause. Together we raised over £10,000, 10 times what I anticipated. Thank you so much.

I received a book I was a contributor to

I wrote a chapter for a book on restorative care. In May, I was delighted to receive my copy of ‘Tooth Wear – An Authoritative Reference for Dental Professionals and Students’ edited by Professor Andrew Eder and Dr Marice Faigenblum. I was grateful for the privilege of contributing to this book.

Looking ahead to 2024

I am proud to be Chairman of the 2024 European Society for Lingual Orthodontics Meeting, in Amsterdam next June. Committee members and I went ahead to prepare for this exciting event and meet colleagues. I look forward to sharing news with you about developments and innovations in Orthodontics.

Finally, I would like to thank you all again for the support, commitment, and generosity you have shown to my team and me during 2023. I wish you and your families a happy New Year and a peaceful and prosperous 2024.
